Honeyplate x Chapel Haven Schleifer Center: A Partnership Rooted in Care and Connection

For the past five years, Honeyplate has had the privilege of serving the incredible community at Chapel Haven Schleifer Center — a lifelong learning and independent living program for adults with developmental and social disabilities right here in New Haven.

What began as a simple food service has evolved into something much deeper: a partnership built on nourishment, dignity, and connection through food.

What We Do Together

At Chapel Haven Schleifer Center, Honeyplate provides:

  • Daily meal offerings for students, staff, and visitors

  • An on-campus café with rotating menus and inclusive options

  • Catering for potluck dinners and community gatherings each week

  • Individually packaged meals for residents and alumni living both on and off campus

Our meals are designed with balance, flavor, and ease in mind — supporting the independence that CHSC students build every day. For many, Honeyplate serves as a complement to the meals they cook on their own at home — offering variety, fresh options, and ready-to-enjoy dishes that make mealtime feel both simple and satisfying.

Why It Matters

To us, Chapel Haven Schleifer Center isn’t just a client. It’s a reflection of what we believe in: food that fosters independence, comfort, and connection.

When community members sit down to a shared dinner, or grab a meal between classes, it’s more than nourishment — it’s a moment of confidence, community, and care. Food becomes a bridge between learning and living.

Looking Ahead

As our partnership continues, we’re expanding:

  • New seasonal café menus celebrating local ingredients

  • Flexible meal delivery options for students and alumni living independently

  • Collaborative programs that build everyday life skills through food

Partnerships like Chapel Haven Schleifer Center inspire the work we do every day.
If your organization shares that same dedication to care and community, we’d love to connect. Honeyplate partners with schools, healthcare programs, and nonprofits across Connecticut to make wholesome, scratch-cooked meals more accessible — always with heart, flexibility, and flavor.
